Open world sandbox shouldn't limit us like that. What magical force prevents either of these options. I think about it from a realistic viewpoint, if I found an old stone building somewhere and liked it, I could build around it, fix it up if I wanted to or destroy it. Why can't they put these ruins in places we wouldn't want to build? Like the side of a mountain or where there are no resources? they are ruins, and while I get that they add to the game through lore or ancient science books or whatever loot they have, they still get in the way. I'd like the option to own the empty shell and build around it, or to be able to demolish it and build from nothing. I don't care about what's inside of them, my point is these ruins are almost always in a prime building spot.
